I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Sunday Scoop Week of 7/26/15- What's Happening This Week or Coming Up Soon and a special Where-To-Go Weekend edition

We received tickets to  the BCCT production of Mary Poppins at the Strand Theater for free for review purposes any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: The Strand Theater

Where: 400 Clifton Avenue
             Lakewood, NJ

Who: All ages
Our view: We were lucky enough to attend  the final performance of Mary Poppins at the Strand Theater. The Strand Theater is a beautiful old historic theater in Lakewood, NJ. The theater hosts concerts, shows, kids theater camps, senior citizens activities, and a whole lot more. The latest production of Mary Poppins was presented by the Brick Children's Community Theater ( BCCT). We would recommend both the theater and the theater troop. The theater is large and the seats are fairly comfortable. It is not too hot even on a summer's day as the air reaches comfortably up to the upper seats unlike in some theaters. It is worth seeing for the beauty of its Neo Classic and Art Deco interiors which dates back to the 1920s and which has been fully restored since that time. The theater has actually been named to both  the List of Registered Historic Places in New Jersey and the National Register of Historic Places. The BCCT production of Mary Poppins was completely professional. The acting, singing and dancing were all first rate. We did not even realize that all of the cast members were kids of high school age and below until the show was half way through.  The next production at the theater will be the musical Rock of Ages presented by Exit 82 Theater. This production will run on the following dates:

Friday July 31 at 8:00 pm
Saturday August 1 at 8:00 pm
Sunday August 2 at 2:00 pm
Thursday August 6 at 7:00 pm
Friday August 7 at 8:00 pm
Saturday August 8 at 8:00 pm
