I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Sahara Sams and On Your Feet

We were given free tickets to Sahara Sams for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Sahara Sams

Where: 535 Route 73
              West Berlin, NJ

Who: All ages
Mom's view: Sahara Sams is water park that is open all year. Sahara Sams has something both indoors and outdoors for all ages. For toddler there are play areas in shallow water. For older kids and adults there are splash zones and water slides and an obstacle course among other things. For those who are especially daring and meet the height requirement there is New Jersey's only surfing simulator. For those who prefer a relaxing gentler time, there is  a lazy river, and a hot tub  and even cabanas if you prefer to stay out of the water altogether. If you are going, particularly during the summer months when everyone is thinking about water activities, we would recommend going early. It gets really crowded really quickly and the lines get really long. Also, don't forget to bring your own towels because the facility does not supply them. We were given free tickets to On Your Feet for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.
What: On Your Feet

Where: Marquis Theater
           211 W. 45th St.
           New York, NY

Who: All ages except for very young children and babies

Mom's view: If you are a fan of Gloria Estefan, you will love this show and learn a lot about her and her husband, Emilio and their band that you never knew. Even if you are not a fan of Gloria Estefan, but you just appreciate good music and/or a good story, you will still like this show. This happy upbeat show makes you want to sing and dance and have a good time right along with the cast. The singing is great. It almost makes you forget that you aren't listening to the actual Gloria Estefan and/or the Miami Sound Machine. The songs are great. The only bad thing about them is that sometimes they sing a whole song and other times they only sing a part of song which makes you want to hear the rest of it.  The acting is great. The cast led by Ana Villafane and Josh Segarra as a completely believable Gloria and Emilio shines. Aside from Ana and Josh, other standout performers in the show include Alma Cuervo as Gloria's feisty grandmother and Eduardo Hernandez playing a variety of young boys. Eduardo is an incredible dancer. You won't want to miss the opportunity to see him strut his stuff. All in all, if you want to see a fun show, On Your Feet is definitely a good choice.
And that's Mom's view. Tune in to tomorrow's Talking Topics post for more about Sahara Sam's and On Your Feet.
