I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: A Girl Like You by Gemma Burgess and The Next Best Thing by Jennifer Weiner

Me - Today I am recommending A Girl Like You by Gemma Burgess. It was so romantic. It was about a girl named Abigail who gets dating advice from her roommate who is this heartbreaker guy named Robert. Abigail met Robert because she was in a serious relationship, and then she broke up with the guy. She needed some place to live so she moved in with her sister's fiancee's best friend, Robert.  The story was really good. The characters were interesting. They were sort of stereotypical, but that didn't bother me. They were still really likeable. Over all, it was just a really good love story.
Mom - Today I am recommending The Next Best Thing by  Jennifer Weiner. The Next Best Thing is about Ruth who as a child suffered permanent facial damage in a car accident that killed her parents. Because of the way, she looks, Ruth doesn't think anyone will ever really be able to truly love her, and that is the way her life seems to be working out so far. Accordingly, she devotes herself to her writing career. When a sitcom, she wrote based on the relationship between herself and the grandmother that raised her gets picked up as a TV series, it seems like Ruth's dreams are coming true. However, the reality of having a TV series picked up turns out to be nothing like Ruth thought it would be, and she has to try balance the demands of the network and her shows needy stars with her vision for what she wants her show to be and at the same time just maybe have the personal life she never dreamed she'd have after all. Ruth is a really plucky heroine. She is an inspiration to girls everywhere especially those who are  not the pretty skinny ones who are always going to effortlessly get the guy and having everything in life handed to them on a silver platter.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
