I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Funtivity Friday - Treasure Hunt

A fun thing to do when you've got nothing to do is to make up a treasure hunt. Here's how we did it but you can always make up your own variation.

1) First find something to be the treasure. You can either use things that you find around your house and pretend they're treasure or you can surprise your kids with little toys or treats or something. We used little pieces of candy including some that looked like pieces of gold.

2) Find a place to hide the treasure. I hid ours inside a shell in a flower pot .

3) Make up a route to the treasure using objects around the house. For example, a box can be a hill to climb over or a blanket on the ground can be a river. Just give them fun names like Haunted Hill and Snake Lake.

4) Draw  a treasure map.

5) If your kids are little you can help them follow the map. If they are older, you can take turns hiding the treasure and making up the map and finding the treasure.

Enjoy!
