I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Madame Tussauds New York 2016 and Anything Goes

We were given free tickets to Madame Tussauds New York for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own based on our experience.
What: Madame Tussauds New York

Where: 234 W. 42nd St.
            New York, NY

Who: All ages except for the Ghostbusters: Dimensions exhibit which has 48" height requirement

Mom's view: Even if you have already been to a Madame Tussauds somewhere in the world, all locations are different, and they do not have all of the same exhibits. Even if you've been to a particular Madame Tussauds, don't think you've been there and done that. They are always changing and bringing in new exhibits. This year's big attraction at the Madame Tussauds in New York is the Ghostbusters Experience. The general Ghostbusters Experience is included with admission to the museum. The experience is like an immersive walk through the movie and includes wax figures from the movie and moving ghosts among other things. For an additional $20.00 fee you can experience Ghostbusters: Dimensions. Ghostbusters: Dimensions is a Hyper-Reality experience. It lets you be a virtual Ghostbuster blasting your way through an infested apartment eliminating ghosts with a proton pack. The experience is completely wireless  You are suited up and free to go wherever you want within the limits of the simulation unlike in other simulations where you are required to be seated. While there is no age limit for the Ghostbusters Dimensions attraction, there is a 48" height requirement. For more information about the Ghostbusters Experience and Ghostbusters: Dimensions go to

We were given free tickets to Anything Goes for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are based on our experience.
What: Anything Goes

Where: Kelsey Theatre
             1200 Old Trenton Road
            West Windsor, NJ

Who: All ages

When: Friday,August 5  and Saturday August 6 8:00 PM
Saturday August 6 and Sunday August 7 2:00 PM

Mom's view: Anything Goes is at its heart the story of crazy and mostly romantic mix-ups aboard a ship. The show has been produced on Broadway several times most recently starring Sutton Foster in 2011. It is full of classic songs like You're the Top, Blow Gabriel Blow, and the title song. The latest production of the show is offered by M & M Productions at the Kelsey Theatre. Their version of the show is entertaining. At first, Jennifer Fischer doesn't seem to have a strong enough personality to carry off the lead role of Reno Sweeney, who has been played in past productions of the show by such powerful performers as Ethel Merman, Tyne Daly and Patti Lupone as well as the aforementioned Ms. Foster. However, Ms. Fischer gets better as the show goes along and she has a lovely voice. For the most part the voices are all good as is the acting with one or two exceptions in each case. The show,  is full of fun productions numbers including a big tap dance number. There is even a cute little dog.  For more information or to order tickets go to http://www.mccc.edu/~humphrew/whatsnew/AnythingGoes.html.
And that's Mom's view. Tune in to tomorrow's Talking Topics post for Aurella's view of Madame Tussauds 2016 and Anything Goes.
