I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

More Theater Monday - Elements of Oz

             80 Greenwich St.
             New York, NY

Who: Teens and Up

When:Now through December 18, 2016

Me - Elements of Oz was a completely unique experience. It was a show about the making of the movie The Wizard of Oz. There was a lot of interesting facts about the movie. Also, they showed some tricks about how they made the movie. It made me really want to watch the movie again. There wasn't really a story to a show though. There was interactive parts where you could participate through your mobile device. Our wasn't working. That was disappointing. Over all, it was somewhat fascinating but a little long unless you are totally obsessed with The Wizard of Oz and feel the need to know everything about it.
Mom -  Elements of Oz is not a really a show with a linear plot. It is more an exploration of the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz. If you are interested in movie trivia and/or you really love The Wizard of Oz, you may enjoy this show. It is full of information about the making of the movie. It is also an informative look into the way movies are made including some of the tricks of the trade. There is also an interactive feature to the show whereby you can download an app. to your phone, tablet, or i-Pod so you can see and hear additional material during the course of the show. However, you don't lose anything by not participating in the interactive element, and if you do not have an electronic device to use yourself you can pretty much check out the material on other people's devices around you since it is a small theater and the seats are close together. There are several other aspects to the show. However, they go by quickly and are not that interesting for the most part unless you feel the need to know everything about The Wizard of Oz and anything even mildly related to it. All in all, the show is a whirlwind of data which can be both a good thing and a bad thing. At times, it can be a bit overwhelming, but you will definitely come out knowing things you didn't know about The Wizard of Oz,
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
