I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Morris Museum

What: The Morris Museum

Where: 6 Normandy Heights Rd.
              Morristown, NJ

Who: All ages

Me - The Morris Museum was fun. There was this really cool exhibit of famous places made completely out of toothpicks. Some of the places they had included the Eiffel Tower, the Whitehouse, Big Ben, the Titanic, and The Battleship New Jersey. I have actually been to the Battleship New Jersey twice and once I slept over. For more about that go to Where-To-Go Wednesday - Intrepid Operation Slumber. The toothpick sculptures were so amazing! I can't believe somebody could actually make those out things out of toothpicks. They had a lot of old music boxes and old musical instruments. They were so awesomely cool. There was a man who did a demonstration. He played some of the instruments. It was really fun to hear. It sounded very pretty too. One of the music boxes was really big. It was so loud! They had old gaming machines. They had one that looked like the one from the movie Big except it was an old woman instead of a man. They also had a lot of fossils. They had a giant woolly mammoth tooth. There were some gems. They were really pretty. There were some seashells. There was a collection of sand from all different places all over the world. I never knew that there were so many different kinds of sand in different places. There were Indian things too like a totem pole and an Indian headdress. The Morris Museum was really a cool place to go, and I would really recommend you go.

Mom - The Morris Museum is a nice little museum. It is dedicated to visual and performing arts. The museum has a collection of permanent exhibits including a model trains exhibit, an American Indian exhibit, and an instruments and automatons exhibit. They also have special exhibits that come in for a few months or so. At the time, we visited at the end of the summer, they had an exhibit of amazing creations made out of toothpicks including Yankee Stadium, the Roman Colosseum, and the Statue of Liberty among other famous locations. They also had an exhibit of gaming machines and an exhibit regarding the ocean. Current special exhibits include one on diners, one on miniatures, and one on the people of Papua, New Guinea. There are also all kinds of programs and tours for children of all ages as well as for adults. There is even a theater, the Bickford Theatre, where both plays for children and plays for adult are performed. Some of the shows are more well known shows such as shows that have played Off Broadway or well known fairy tales; some are less well known shows. There are also concerts and/or special events held at the Bickford Theatre. Overall, although  the Morris Museum itself is not especially big, there is a lot to see, and there are so many different things that something is bound to appeal to just about everyone.   For more information go to http://www.morrismuseum.org/#.

And that's our view, Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
