I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where: Check the web-site here for a theater near you

When: March 4, 2017

Who: All ages
Me - Disney's Newsies: The Broadway Musical was really good.I really wanted to see it on Broadway, but I never got to. I'm really glad I got to see it now. Seeing it in the movies is not as good as seeing it live, but it's the next best thing. I liked everything about  Newsies. I liked the music. One of my favorite songs was King of New York, but I mostly liked all the songs. I liked the story. I liked the characters. My favorite character was Les because he was young, and he was funny too. All of  the acting was good. One of the guys who played one of the newsboy, we once saw in an At This Performance Concert of Broadway understudies. His name is Ben Cook, and he was an understudy for the show Tuck Everlasting. The guy he was the understudy for Andrew Keenan Bolger was also in Newsies. He played Crutchie. I liked that they had a mix of people from the original Broadway cast of Newsies and the tour of Newsies in the show. The singing was really good. The dancing was great! It was really cool! I can't wait to see what show they have next at Fathom events!

Mom - It used to be you had to go to Broadway to see a Broadway caliber production. Then, Broadway touring productions began travelling to major cities throughout the country. Now, you can even see a Broadway show at your local movie theater courtesy of a partnership between Broadway HD and Fathom Events. The latest Broadway show available at Fathom Events, Newsies: The Broadway Musical, is brought to you by Disney. Newsies based on the Disney movie of the same name is the story of the newsboys strike of 1899. The musical ran on Broadway from 2012-2014.  Although, it was never as popular as Disney stage shows based on their cartoon movies like The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, it is really a very entertaining show for the whole family. It is full of interesting characters, boisterious songs, and energetic dancing. The cast for this version of the show includes a number of actors from the original Broadway production including the Tony nominated, Jeremy Jordan as Jack Kelly as well as Kara Lindsay as Katherine Plumber, Andrew Keenan Bolger as Crutchie, and Ben Fankhauser as Davey Jacobs. Other actors are from the National tour of the show including Steven Blanchard as Joseph Pulitizer, Aisha De Haas as Medda Larkin and Ethan Steiner as Les Jacobs. If you have seen the original movie before but not the show, please note there are some major plot points that have been changed from the original movie to the stage version. Also, some of the songs from the original movie were omitted  and additional songs were added. However, in our opinion these changes only serve to make the story better and the show more enjoyable.  If you are interested in seeing Newsies the Broadway Musical at Fathom Events, hurry and get your tickets now, There will be one final showing on Saturday March 4, and tickets are selling quickly.

  1. Wow, cool post. I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real hard work to make a great article… but I put things off too much and never seem to get started. Thanks though.
