I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

A More Theater Monday Monthly Mash-up for March 2017- At This Performance and Church & State

Me - My topic for this month is  At This Performance Broadway Understudy Concerts. These concerts are really cool. The performers are really good. I would be excited to see any of the performers I've seen in a Broadway understudy concert in a show. They are really talented. The most recent At This Performance concert was Monday March 20, 2017. Performers at the show included:

The understudy for Carole King in Beautiful
Three understudies from In Transit
The understudy for Pierre in Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812
The understudy for Indigo in Paramour
The understudy for Emilio Estefan in On Your Feet
The understudies for the current Off Broadway production of Sweeney Todd

I can't wait for the next At This Performance concert which will be on Sunday April 2, 2017 at  The Lions Theatre at Theatre at 410 W. 42nd Street, New York, New York. For more information or to order tickets go to http://www.musicalstonight.org/.

Mom- My topic this month is Church & State. Church & State is currently playing at New World Stages, 340 W. 50th St. New York, NY. Like the current Keen Company production of When It's You, Church & State also deals with the topic of gun violence. However, unlike When It's You which overall is more of a serious drama, Church & State is billed as a comedy. A lot of it is actually very funny. The characters mainly a senator, his wife,  and his campaign manager (can be very funny and there are a lot of funny lines. The story involves a senator running for re-election who has a crisis of faith and isn't sure whether to believe in God anymore when a school shooting occurs in his town. It is well written and well acted by the talented  four person cast. In addition to the characters mentioned previously there are also a bunch of smaller roles played by the same actor. It is not a show for children due to the subject matter. However, if you are an adult and you appreciate a show that not only entertains but makes you think, this show is a good choice.

And that's our view. What's on your mind?

Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
