I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Bronx Zoo

What: The Bronx Zoo

Where: 2300 Southern Blvd.
            Bronx New York

Who: All ages

Me - The Bronx Zoo was a really really fun zoo. It is bigger than the other New York Zoos. It is the biggest zoo I've ever been to. There were cute little prairie dogs. They had a place where you could stick your head up and look like a prairie dog. There was a pretend spider web you could climb on. There was a pretend shell which you could climb into and pretend to be a turtle.  There were also actual turtles. There were a lot of different birds too. There was whole section of monkeys. They were cute. There was a reptile house. A lot of the reptiles were different kinds of snakes. You had to go on a monorail to see some of the animals. It was very fun to ride. There was one animal that I don't know what it was called but it looked like it was wearing a diaper because it was white on its lower back and around its behind. There was an alpaca. There was a whole section with farm animals. There were many more animals too. It was a very entertaining zoo, and I would really recommend going.

Mom -The Bronx Zoo is the biggest zoo in the United States and one of the largest in the world. There are a wide variety of animals from a wide variety of countries to see at the zoo. There are also many special programs and events offered throughout the year for all ages. The zoo does contain a lot of special sections and rides and things that cost extra, such as, the Wild Asia Monorail, Jungleworld, a 4-D Theater and a Bug Carousel. Therefore, if you really want to get the full experience of the zoo without it costing a fortune it really pays to get a total experience ticket. Total experience tickets are less expensive during the colder months since some of the special sections and things are seasonal and are closed during that time including the Wild Asia Monorail and the zoo shuttle. Depending on the size of your family, it may even pay to get a one year family membership to the zoo instead of  a one day ticket for each member of your family. A one year membership includes admittance to the zoo and all special sections and things (except camel rides)  for 2 adults and all children under 18 in a family as well as a guest. It also includes free parking. It includes admission to 3 other zoos: Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo and Central Park Zoo and the New York Aquarium for one year too. It can be fun to visit these other zoos as well as the Bronx Zoo. However, of course, the biggest and the best of the zoos is the Bronx Zoo. It is a great fun zoo for the whole family and definitely worth experiencing at least once. For more about the Bronx Zoo or to purchase tickets or a one year membership go to http://bronxzoo.com/

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.

  1. Last year my family went to the Bronx Zoo. I haven't been there since my girls were you probably 25 years ago. We had so much fun. My grandson loved it. We all did.
