I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Monthly Mash-up May 2017 Seasons and Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Me - My topic for this month is seasons. I hate winter. It's cold, and it's snowy. There's a lot of ice so it's slippery. I do like sledding in the winter. I like ice skating too even though I have only been once in my life. Also, I like building snowmen. I don't like building them alone because it's lonely. I like building them with my sister. Fall is my least favorite season. The leaves fall and trees don't look as nice. Also, the leaves get in my hair. School starts, and it starts to get cold. I do like Halloween though because I love candy, and I like dressing up. I also like Pumpkin Pie which is in season in Fall. I like the middle of Spring weatherwise. It's usually not too cold and it's not too hot. I also like that the flowers grow in Spring because they're pretty. However, I don't like that it rains a lot. I love summer. Summer is my favorite season. It's warm, but I don't like that it gets really hot. I like that I have no school in the summer so I can go out and do fun things. Also, my birthday is in summer. Unfortunately, it's at the end. The weather is not really too great in any of the seasons. It is always too hot or too cold. There are very few days when it's just right. Over all, even though I like some seasons better than others, there are at least some good things and some bad things about every season.

We were given free tickets to Hedwig and the Angry Inch for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are my own.
Mom - My topic for this month is Hedwig and the Angry Inch I recently had the opportunity to see the touring show of Hedwig and the Angry Inch at State Theatre New Jersey. It was the last show of their 2016/2017 Broadway series. The show is a rock musical about an East German singer who takes on a female persona after a botched sex change operation which was performed so that she could marry a man and leave East Germany. Although this might seem to some like a strange subject for a musical, it is actually a very entertaining show. If you like to see shows that are unique, you would definitely enjoy this one. If you like to see moving shows that stir your emotions, you will like this show too. There is a lot more to Hedwig and her story then you learn from just that brief plot synopsis. The show was last on Broadway in 2014 and 2015. That production won a a bunch of awards including a Tony for Best Musical Revival as well as  a Tony for Neil Patrick Harris in the lead role. Euan Morton plays the lead role in the touring company of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He played Boy George in the short lived musical about the singer, Taboo in 2003. He does a nice job with the character of Hedwig especially in the more emotional moments. Hanna Corneau is equally good as Hedwig's husband, Yitzak. The rest of the cast consists of Hedwig's band members but none of their characters is really developed. The show was at State Theatre New Jersey from May 19 through May 21 and is now in Boston.
