I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Mom - Kelsey Theater does a nice job of staging Tennessee William's The Glass Menagerie. The show was recently revived on Broadway with Oscar winning actress, Sally Field receiving a Tony nomination as Amanda Wingfield. However, if you didn't get a chance to attend that version, you might want to catch this well acted version of the classic show. Jessica Braynor is particularly good in the role of the delicate Laura in this edition of the show. If you have never seen, The Glass Menagerie and you are afraid it is going to be a heavy drama with no relieve, don't be. There are a lot of light and funny moments in the show as well. If you are looking for something that is ultimately a comedy, you will not find that in this show, however.  The show will be running through this weekend.

Who: Teens and Up
Me - Attack of the Elvis Impersonators  was interesting. It was about a guy who was a rock star who decided he wanted to be an Elvis Impersonator. There is a lot more crazy stuff to the show then that but if you want to know more about the plot you should see the show. It is hard to describe. The show was really rather enjoyable. It was funny. Some of the characters were kind of strange, but it was entertaining. There was a really strange evil guy. He wanted the rock star to go back to being a rock star. The music was good, but it was very unusual. There were song with names like Viva Milwaukee, Spread the Word of Hound Dog, and The Evils of Elvis. I liked them. They were fun. People who like Elvis Impersonators and people who like unique shows would enjoy this show. It's different than any show you've ever seen before.
Mom - If you are tired of the same old familiar shows, you may like Attack of the Elvis Impersonators. This unique show is about a rock star whose body is inhabited by the soul of Elvis and to save the human race he must convert the rest of the world to Elvis Impersonators too.  Despite this crazy premise, the show is very enjoyable. It pokes fun in an entertaining way not only at Elvis but at religion and the cult of celebrity. If you take any of these things too seriously, you may not enjoy this show. However, if you can see the lighter side of these things, you should definitely appreciate this funny show. The songs are zany but fun. Several of them spoof familiar Elvis songs like Viva Milwaukee instead of Viva Las Vegas or Seeing Eye Dog instead of Teddy Bear. The other songs in the show are equally amusing. They include Thank You For This Grammy, You Are the King of Kings, and Graceland. Altogether the show is  just a hoot. It will be running at the Lion Theatre in New York City through September 25, 2017.
