I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

            249 W. 45th St.
            New York, New York

When: June 5, 2017
Me & Mom: Recently we had the opportunity to attend the Theater World Awards. These awards are given for outstanding Broadway or Off Broadway debut performances. The awards took place at the Imperial Theater in New York City on June 5, 2017. Awards were given to the following people:

Carlo Albin who is currently appearing in Sweat.

Josh Groban who is currently appearing in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812

Lucas Hedges who appeared in Yen.

Raymond Lee who appeared in Vietgone.

Denee Benton who is currently appearing in Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812

Jon Jon Briones who is currently appearing in Miss Saigon.

Eva Noblezada who is currently appearing in Miss Saigon.

Jeremy Secomb who appeared in Sweeney Todd.

Barrett Doss who is currently appearing in Groundhog Day.

Cobie Smulders who is currently appearing in Present Laughter.

Amber Gray who is currently appearing in Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812.

Christy Altomare who is currently appearing in Anastasia.

Most of the awards were presented by people who had previously won a Theater World Award. Most of them had worked with the person they were presenting the awards to so they were able to speak about them a little. That was a nice touch. Since the awards were not televised, people didn't have to worry about being played off the stage. That was a nice touch too. The speeches were heartfelt and not very long anyway.  It was a fun evening, and we would definitely go again if we had the chance.

For more information about the Theater World Awards go to theatreworldawards.org. For our view of this year's Tony Awards see next Monday's Talking Topics post.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
