I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Me - Pluto is Missing was a musical about the dwarf planet Pluto running away because it wasn't appreciated enough because it was small and not considered a real planet anymore. The show was good. It was very interesting. It was very informational. It taught kids a lot about the planets and space. My favorite character was Pluto's moon because it acted like a dog. It was funny. The songs were okay, but not particularly memorable. Sometimes, it was hard to hear the words to the songs because the music was loud although the only instruments were a piano and a guitar which people in the show played. The acting was good. The singing was good too although it was a little too soft. There wasn't really much of a set. They didn't really have costumes either. All the planets were represented by cartoon pictures. Pluto and other space objects were represented by puppets. I liked that this show was so original and that they mentioned Harry Potter several times. Kids who are interested in space would really like this show.

What: My Perfect Pet

Where: The Playroom Theater
             151 W. 46th St.
             New York, NY

Who: Ages 4 and up

When: Saturdays through November 18

Me & Mom - My Perfect Pet was a show about a girl named Cailin who wanted to get a puppy for her 10th birthday. It was a good show especially for little kids. The songs were cute although most of them they didn't really move the plot along. There were songs about things like Happy Pants, Sticky Stuff, and other things. The dog was played by a person. He did a good job playing a dog, and he was really funny. The plot was very simple and there were some parts that didn't make sense, but it was fine for little kids. The acting was good, and the singing was really good. The actress who played the main character and the girl who played her sister had especially nice voices. The dancing was very lively, and at one point they even encouraged the kids in the audience to get up and move. The best part of the show was the songs. This is a great show for small children especially those that love fun music and shows about animals.

We were given free tickets to Chalk for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Chalk

Where: Kraine Theater
            85 E. 4th St.
            New York, NY

Who: Ages 10 and Up

When: The second Saturday of the month through August 2018

Mom - Chalk is a very unique show. It is one man show without a plot or any dialogue. There were, sound effects. The whole show was done through mime and chalk drawings. The show was interesting. The mime portions were okay. The Chalk drawing parts were the best parts of the show, however. It was especially fun when the Chalk drawings coincided with the sound effects like when he drew a radio and turned it on or drew a dog and pet it and it was making happy dog noises. I loved that the show was so different from anything  I had seen before. It was a little slow, however and a little long for a one person silent show. It is definitely not something very young children would like. However, if you are not a little kid, and you are tired of seeing the same old things all the time and you want to see something completely different you might enjoy this show.
