I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday: Books: Where the Sidewalk Ends and other Poetry books by Shel Silverstein and Veronica and the Volcano

We may have been given one or more of the books listed below for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Me - Today I am recommending Where the Sidewalk Ends and other poetry books by Shel Silvestein. The poems in these books are really cute and funy. They are really good poems that people  of all ages can enjoy. My favorite is one called Sick. It is about a little girl who says that she has all these different ailments because she doesn't want to go to school. It is one of my favorite poems of all time. In general, I am not that big on poetry, but I love Shel Silverstein poems, they are poems that anyone can enjoy.

Mom - Today I am recommending Veronica and the Volcano by Geoffrey Cook. Kids who like adventure books will enjoy this tale of a young girl who lives on the slope of a volcano and goes hunting for diamonds. Veronica is a great role model for young girls because she is smart, loves science and is not afraid to take action when it is necessary. Kids who are interested in Volocano's will especially like this book because they will learn a lot about Volcanos just by reading it. It is the kind of book that even kids who do not necessarily like reading may enjoy.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
