I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

             (Between Fifth and Madison)
              New York, NY

Me & Mom - The Herbert and Eileen Bernard Museum is a museum of Jewish religion, customs, and culture. It is part of Temple Emanu- El. The museum consists of a three rooms. Two of the rooms have exhibits that change. The other room is a permanent exhibit. Items that are part of the permanent exhibit include a clock with Hebrew letters, clothing,  candlesticks,  and prayers books. They also have a bunch of menorahs and Torah crowns. The exhibit is pretty small but contains a lot of items. It is probably not a very good exhibit for young children. However, anyone who is interested in Jewish artifacts would enjoy it. The museum is free and open Sunday through Thursday 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Me & Mom - The current exhibit at the Herbert and Eileen Bernard Museum is On Jews and Chocolate. The exhibit is all about the history of chocolate through the years and the role Jews have played in that history as well as the role chocolate has played in Jewish history. Here you can learn all kinds of interesting facts about chocolate. There are also many pictures and artifacts on display including advertisements for and/or wrappers from Israeli chocolate brands . There is also a whole display case on Hanukkah gelt and its history. There are cups used for hot chocolate that belonged to Albert Einstein and his family. Even the floor looks like the squares of a chocolate bar. Other items on display include containers from chocolate and molds used to make chocolate. They even have the drawing of a bomb made to look like a chocolate bar. The exhibit was really interesting. Anybody who loves chocolate would enjoy it, but it will definitely make you crave a chocolate bar.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
